Ofer Josef

Ofer JOSEF was born in 1965 in Tel Aviv, Israel.
In France, at the age of seventeen, he became the youngest student to join the School of Fine Arts in Paris.
He then lived about twenty years in the Amazon, on the banks of the Rio Negro, a little isolated from men and a little closer to animals, which he loves more.
Since then, he continues to create his visions and bring them to life on paper.
Ofer JOSEF dreams continuously ; he feeds the tip of his pen thanks to an overflowing imagination where he meets a thousand creatures he presents to us in the form of the creation of surprising and gloomy luminous images.
In the artist’s very nuanced and contrasting basements, our curious and attentive mind is lost in the meanders of dread and nightmare. One does not emerge unscathed from a small visit to one’s world : it immerses us in forgotten reflections, postponed or voluntarily shelved. However, in this universe where Baudelaire rubs shoulders with Goya, Redon, Kollwitz or Rops, there remains a point of clarity.
In the use of its clear tones, it is up to us to find it, a small light of hope on a blackboard.
